Yokohama Ferris Wheel - Cosmo Clock 21

"The new Cosmos Clock 21 grew about 7.5 meters to reach a towering 112 meters. The wheel with a diameter of 100 meters totes 60 eight-person gondolas. It might be fun to compare Cosmos Clock 21 with its 115-meter-tall rival that opened in Tokyo's Rinkai Fuku-toshin in early March. Although the wheel ultimately lost its "world's tallest" status to Tokyo, at its opening, Cosmos Clock 21 won a place in the Guinness Book of World Records for height, capacity and the clock in its center. In these three categories, our wheel was No. 1 in the world."

Strange as it may sound, I was introduced to the Yokohama Ferris Wheel (Cosmo Clock 21) through the popular anime series Honey and Clover. It was featured in episode 19 of the 1st season.

Initially, i didn't have a clue on the whereabouts of this majestic piece. I didn't even know if it actually existed.

Then one day, i received an email containing some snapshots of Yokohama at night when the city seems to be engulfed in flames of bright neons. And among these pictures were a snapshot of a ferris wheel...

It was majestic on scale, the neons of billboards and surrounding buildings flicker humbly beside the alluring display of the ferris wheel. On full display, the sight is simply breathtaking.

The multiple patterns displayed by the ferris wheel makes one fall into a trance. It's like having the WMP/ winamp visualization being played ON A FERRIS WHEEL. \(*o*)/

I have always loved ferris wheels and how they carry you up slowly...higher and higher towards the clouds. And because each carriage is spaced WIDELY apart from one another, one is given a sense of privacy and personal space. <<- much needed in amusement parks filled with hyper-active kids

Someday in my future, I will look up at this creation in clear view...and be captivated. And then I'll dash towards the counter and buy myself a ride. V(^_^)

But you know...I have this little dream...this very small little dream of mine...

To be at this place, with...and hearing those words as the ferris wheel touches the midnight sky...

Anime: Natsume Yuujinchou - Book of Friends

A poker-faced guy who has the ability to see spirits...

A fat old cat...

And a bunch of demons/spirits...

Sounds boring? Yes.

But i sat through the whole 13 episodes anyway. And i thought it was nice. The youkais (spirits) were kinda interesting too.

I think i must have lost the ability to get bored or,

I'm just a sucker for poker-faced guys and cats.

Natsume Takashi has the ability to see spirits, which he has long kept secret. However, once he inherits a strange book that belonged to his deceased grandmother, Reiko, he discovers the reason why spirits surround him. Containing the names of these spirits, a binding contract was formed between the spirits and the owner of the book. Now, Natsume is determined to free the spirits and dissolve the contracts. With the help of a spirit cat, his days are filled trying to return the names to these spirits.

I think its pretty obvious this post is just for an update. =P
But yea, nothing much going on lately. I've probably been enjoying myself too much ever since the hols started. Been pampered much too =3

It's such a bliss...really. Ahh, time is such a cruel thing. T_T
